Eygliers (FRA)

What awaits you?

A cycling journey to discover the charm of Provence and its stunning landscapes through a 9-day loop itinerary, fully immersed in the flavors and scents of its best season, in supported mode with a vehicle following for luggage transport, allowing you to ride light and carefree.

On this road bike adventure, we will first cross the deep, winding Verdon Gorges, the largest canyon in Europe, with its crystal-clear waters surrounded by the fascinating cliffs.
We will then dive into the
Luberon Regional Natural Park (a UNESCO biosphere reserve), riding among olive groves, vineyards, and lavender fields, and passing through its picturesque ancient villages, where narrow alleys reveal historic buildings, characteristic views with fountains, old washhouses, charming traditional shops, and lively local markets — all accompanied by the enchanting scents of lavender and regional products.

We will then ride along the roads of the Alpilles, the "small Alps" of the lower Rhône valley — beautiful and little-trafficked — and while crossing this short 30-kilometer mountain range, we will admire the fortified village of Les Baux-de-Provence before reaching Avignon.

The route will then head toward a truly unmissable stage, a legendary site in cycling history: the ascent to nearly 2,000 meters of Mont Ventoux, the long climb that every cycling enthusiast dreams of conquering.

In the final part of this spectacular journey, we will continue to enjoy the beauty of charming villages and breathtaking scenery: a truly unique landscape among the Provençal Alps, mountain roads, and lakes will guide us back to the starting point, bringing this unforgettable adventure to a close.

The Trip

On this road bike trip we will first cross the deep and meandering Verdon gorges, the largest in Europe, with its crystal clear waters surrounded by the fascinating landscape of the cliffs. We will then immerse ourselves in the Luberon Regional Natural Park (UNESCO biosphere reserve) among olive groves, vineyards and lavender fields, and we will cross its picturesque ancient villages whose narrow streets reveal historic buildings, characteristic views with fountains, old wash houses, other people's shops temples with characteristic signs and typical markets, always pedaling accompanied by the scents of lavender and local products.

We will then travel along the roads of the Alpilles, the small Alps of the lower Rhone valley, beautiful and with little traffic, and crossing this short mountain range of about thirty km we will be able to admire the fortification of Baux de Provance before reaching Avignon.

The itinerary will then begin to head towards what will be a truly unmissable stage, the scene of many pages in the history of cycling, with the ascent up to almost 2000m of Mont Ventoux, the long climb that all enthusiasts have in mind and have dreamed of doing.

In the last part of this spectacular route there will be no shortage of villages and wonderful views of a truly unique landscape between the Provençal Alps, mountain roads and lakes will lead us, at the end of the journey, to return to the point from which we started.
